Experimental Film Initial Ideas

I had had a few brief ideas and had thought about doing something along the lines of dissociation or a physical book of some kind. I randomly came up with a pretty solid idea out of the blue as I was talking to a friend. - I'm thinking of using the concept of Plato's Cave Theory about a box/cave in a field - having/being a kind of montage. - I also want to have anchored shots of things being freed and growing. - overall want it to have projections inside, maybe of news reels? etc. - poetic yet message I'm still not fully 100% sure yet, as i have a few things/ideas/inspirations floating around things to look into: 2001 space odyssey berkoff (no idea why but he came into my head the other day, more in particular metamorphosis and the style with the clocks and mime) roeg i also like german expressionism at the moment.

Face Paint Testing For Portraits

Image
I looked at face paint and make up to inspire me and remind me of things I have seen before and that I had in mind. I then started remembering this thing I saw of anti-facial recognition and with a quick search, I found them While I was trying to find them, I came across this image from the 1920 movie The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. I watched it and was reminded how much I love German Expressionism and may interpret this in my photography with the exaggerated/stylised theme. Experimenting : I tested out some different face paint looks, drawing inspiration from the photos above.  I first tried a half white idea, which I really liked. I then tried adding some red. I chose the colour red in particular because it connotes danger and love, i feel it is a very mood-y, bold colour. I filled in the top half red, which I also thought looked good, but maybe too intense. I wanted to add other shapes, like the anti face detection ones.  I decided to see what an

Portrait Series Progression Update #2

Here are some notes of some quick ideas that I got. The art crime concept reminded me of the Grand Budapest Hotel, the painting in that film is stolen due to will arguments, and I didn't really gain any inspiration from it. I then thought to try more set up photos that look constructed to follow a previous idea I had to break the verisimilitude purposely to make the viewer aware that this is a constructed piece. When I shoot I think I'm going to try a variety of stuff, posed and natural. I had an image in my head for the main portrait, after this, and realised that it was the image from the movie A Clockwork Orange. So I could try out different things rather than going for a simple portrait/'mug shot' style. Here are some notes I made on my computer, as they came to mind. This lead me to think of other movies like 'Se7en' and 'Kill Your Darlings' that follow this similar theme, however I eventually felt these weren't inspiring to what I
