On Friday I hung some of my work for the crit show. Since I found out about it at the last minute i just took some of my paintings which turned out to be a good thing as I have been wanting feedback on them and also need some advice, etc as i havent been sure what to paint at the moment. It was interesting to see what other art students have been working on and talk to people from other courses that I likely wouldn't have otherwise. suggestions: - different versions of paintings, esp. the portrait oil paint, build on them, try different sizes. Some suggested that I do larger scale pieces and i agreed and said it can be so expensive which is annoyign and someone told me that I may be able to get supplies ordered from the SU's catalogue where they'll be a lot cheaper than pullingers for example. Also suggested I try paint people i know from photos or from memory. said some artists that I am going to look into more: joan miro.
