jan2025 // 35mm film // delta3200 //
I shot this roll of film fairly quickly. A lot of the photos arent great, but ive been trying to see what i can get away with. especially as this film is 3200 i wanted to see how far i could push my luck and some are shot at 1/30 of a second, when my light meter said a slower shutter. I really need to start writing down the settings on photos, especially on rolls where im just trying stuff out. All the photos were took in 2 sessions.
Some of the photos have really good contrast, while others are a bit flatter which im guessing is bc theyre underexposed. Im still trying to work out How i want to take photos at night, as i think there are some interesting effects u can get, however I want to get the contrast of lighting and finding sometimes the highlights are too light and at the same time the shadows are extremely dark, so i still need to find the right balance, which im guessing will come with practice as i get more used to the best light settings in these darker environments.
worried im getting too frivolous.>? not thinking. but maybe thats good atm. dont think im getting as many good photos out of a roll... also with the wonky viewfinder and lack of focal image, i needto be a bit more careful perhaps,as it makes it a lot more difficult to get the image level and also if the focus moves i dont realise until the image has already been processed.
rubbish tbh. I remember waiting for a car to take this. Perhaps next time i could use a higher f stop and longer shutter speed so the light is more spread across rather than blown out in one spot and then everything dark. I guess use the car lights kinda like a laserr in a scanner does and let it roll past and light the surroundings? no clue if that would even work.
This turned out nice. decent balance of the bright lights and dark darks. blown out in small places but it doesnt take over the whole frame. The shape of the building gives a nice structure to the photo and so does the drizzle oflight reflection in the right. I also like that the roof is darker than the sky.
dont even know
I think this would have been ok if it was in focus. If it was less exposed the parts of the cash machine would be too dark and anymore the light would take over...
niceeeeeeeee love the shapes in this
like the depth of this with the reflections and condensations
this turned out ok too. like the slight incline and the posts some of which are wonky. like the cicle blobs of light. russian suprematism?
like elements of this but not really as a whole. eg the bars on the gate
didnt turn out perfect, but like how to text turned out, despite being a bit blurryyyyyy
maybe could have done with being a stop darker? that way could see more elements of in the store.
quite like how the focal point is in the top right corner. a little weird but kinda interesting? esp with the line of the floor/store dragging u to it...?
has some magical essence to it i think..
took balancing my camera on my car
think about where im metering. check for harsh light sources n think about it a bit more.
write down settings as taking photos
take more care on straightening camera and not knocking focus dial when taking photo
would like to try another bnw film w tripod n longer shutter speed. prob 200 speed
