on beethoven n tempo

Again - thinking about russian silences in chekhov plays. lol
n minimal music. john cage.smthn about the dark n sitting with ur thoughts innit poetic
idleness. Slow summer notes i made. idle
cars also idle? intention n patience

the sea gull. notes 4 actors.

  • early play of his so he'd not developed all his chekhov characteristics.

'chekhov sees his characters as inseperable from the world around them. "nature, on her part," he says in one of his letters, "becomes animated if you are not squeamish about employing comparisons her phenomena with ordinary human activities"'

. Good actors are good listeners. heard ppl say that a lot

Thinking from reading the sea gull and present laughter about what makes a play good? bc its only dialogue n feel u can't put much useful stuff in it ( like in a script) but I think with a play you can add some stage directions but not tell the actor how to play the character as actors bring themselves into the character anyway?? but the realism of chekhov n the re occurring jokes in present laughter n repetitions in godot gives the play itd own character in a way?
