WILLIAM EGGLESTON | Artist Research

I recently found a photographer named William Eggleston. His use of colour is what drew me to him as this accompanied with the composition of his photos really captures the atmosphere of the scene in the photo. They make me feel as though I am there living tranquilly in a suburban town and made me think more upon the idea of documentary photography.
In this photo i like the red that draws the focal point to the people in the car. The angle of the photo is also very nice.

The blue and purple hues that cast on the scene look almost magical.

The lighting in this is amazing, the striking sun casts strong shadows, emphasising the subjects in mid motion.

The glow of the car lights tint the whole photo.

A good example of his use of colour with red and green with a small amount of blue.

I love the contrast between the highlights and shadows with the blue sky and orange grave stones.

This one is super interesting with the text over each other.

Overall, this makes me want to incorporate strong colour in my pieces and how i could capture the atmosphere and mood of them.
