Photography Series Research
A photography series can:
- Carry on a reoccurring theme
- Change meaning of original photo
- Create a longer narrative than a singular photo
- Show the movement or growth of something
- Show more sides to a subject/develop the atmosphere

Some Examples i Found and Liked:
Laurence Demaison - Transformations
Shows the transformation of a scene. I liked how the face disappears from the surface.
Adrienne Salinger - Teen Rooms in the 90s
Carries a reoccurring theme and explores a concept. Shows the expression of character in one of the most important spaces of your life at that age.
Malte Brandenburg - Stacked
The repetition of the aesthetics is satisfying
Bogdan Girbovan - 10 Identical Apartments
Interesting to see how different people live in their own space. Like the teenage room one, except with the same room layout.
Julien Magre - On the Road, Dream Narrative
Documents a journey with dreamy aesthetics.
Katrina Kepule - Sit Silently
Creates a common mood throughout the photos; one that's calm, cool, and secretive/personal.
Some Artists I Liked That Were Shown in Class:
Jari Silomaki - My Weather Diary
I liked the aesthetic of the photos as they conjure a calm atmosphere with the wash of colour and smooth look. I also thought the writing on them were interesting, and made me think of it would be cool to interpret language/poetry in photos.
Maciek Jasik - A Thousand Souls
The use of the colour lights really bring out the idea of the 'soul' that is in the title of the series. They look surreal and dreamy, taking you somewhere else. Similar to an aura.
