Serpentine Marathon | 07.10.17
On the 7th of October, Lukas and I trekked to London to see the Serpentine Marathon that was going on that day from 10am til 10pm. We didn't go for the whole thing as we set off from Farnham at 10am and got there at around roughly 1pm (due to the route available and we accidentally may have also made a detour to the wrong place as it was held off site and getting there took another hour) and we didn't know a lot about the event so had no clue what to expect.
There were talks on things like the oncoming existence of Artificial Intelligence/AI. Some of them were not as interesting, however it was totally worth it for those that were, my particular favourites were the ones in the afternoon which are asterisked on the image to the right, with the ones we managed to catch highlighted.
There are also some clips below of my favourites.
'Perfumed Purple Rice' was super interesting and different to the others as it combined music and a narrative together which is one of the clips in the video so you can check it out yourself.
This along with 'AI and Wisdom Traditions' were my favourite. Kendric McDowell and Jason Louv were both, i found, very engaging.
'How to Make a Zombie' also was interesting as it brought forward the question of where is the line between consciousness/sleep and death, etc. Something I had never really thought about before and after was wanting to know more.

Great that you and Lukas decided to come to London and explore contemporary issues in art and AI - it shows you are adventurous and open to new ideas - well done.
